Are you aware of prolific speculative fiction author Philip K. Dick? The K is short for Kindred. His middle name and my mystical connection to experiences from his pink beam / VALIS daze.

I released my novel, A Kindred Spirit (often called AKS), at the first U.S. Philip K. Dick Festival in 2010. My story was inspired by VALIS (one of Phil’s final novels.)

Paul Williams was my first living Kindred Spirit (Phil died in 1982, so I truly only had spirit contact with him.) I contacted Paul in the late 1990s as I was first discovering Philip K. Dick.  Paul’s name had been turning up in intros and bios of Philip K. Dick. I was searching on line (yes, back then… read of my geeky background and you’ll see.)  Anyway, I discovered many strange books about Phil.  One of the first was Welcome to Reality: The Nightmares of Philip K. Dick  The intro is by Paul…    I’ll see if there’s a link to the old PKDS newsletters. Thanks to Paul, I also met my good friend “Scottie”…  aka the PKD Dream Connection

It wasn’t until I attended the PKD Festival that I learned about Dickheads, the totally Otaku Crew ,  and other PKD ‘zines

John Alan Simon’s movie version of Radio Free Albemuth became available for home viewing (via streaming) in late July. As you can read here, in an article I wrote about the film for PKD fans, I have mixed feelings. I LOVE many aspects, especially that one of our very own fan group members is a screen writer and movie maker and produced this quality work on a VERY low indie budget. I’ve also decided I love the movie on a small screen. It’s intimate and you feel like you truly are “in on the conspiracy.” Check it out!! The many ways to watch are provided here on the Radio Free Albemuth movie and blog site | RFA movie trailer

Anthony Peake:  Master of the Mysterious and AKS author Morgan have participated in podcasts and interviews regarding Phil (PKD) and AKS, as well as discussions of OOBEs, Astral Travel and lucid dreaming.

Peake thanked and credited me in the introduction of his PKD bio The Man Who Remembered the Future. A link to our Ancient of Day podcast is here, on another post. This is Anthony’s recent interview with our PKD pal Nick Buchanan and another sample of the Consciousness Hour
